FIRST PRIZE OSAKA CHAMBER MUSIC COMPETITION
Founded in 1994 at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad (Switzerland), the TRIO LIGETI received, in the context of the Academy and in several masterclasses, advice from Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Alberto Lysy, Radu Aldulescu, Johannes Eskaer,
Bruno Giuranna, Siegmund Nissel, Michel Strauss and Joseph Silverstein.
The Trio already played concerts and appeared in Festivals in Switzerland, France, Germany and Italy, among others, at the 'Festival de Pontino' at Sermoneta (Italy) and at the 'Rencontres musicales' and 'Journées Hindemith' at Blonay, Switzerland. In 1995, they were - with the unanimity of the jury - awarded the 'Grand Prix de musique de chambre' of the 'Forum musical de Normandie'.
In May 1996, they won First Prize at the 2nd Osaka International Chamber Music Competition (Japan).

Igor Keller was born in Alsace/France in 1973. He studied with Adelina Oprean, Sándor Végh and at the International Menuhin Music Academy with Alberto Lysy.
He received important musical inspiration from Walter Levin, Hatto Beyerle, Irina Botchkova, Michel Strauss, Yehudi Menuhin and Joseph Silverstein, among others.
From 1997 to 2005, Igor Keller was 2nd concertmaster of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and has since then collaborated as concertmaster with most orchestras in Switzerland.
He has appeared as soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Nouvel Orchestre de Radio France, the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra and the Camerata Academica Salzburg.
In 1993 he founded the Ligeti String Trio, was a member of the Amar Quartet until 2018 and his extensive career as a chamber player led him to perform alongside musicians such as Ana Chumachenco, Ivry Gitlis, Susan Milan, Charles Neidich, Ian Brown, Oliver Schnyder, David Fray and Ramon Coll to name but a few.
He regularly gives masterclasses in England and Switzerland.
Igor Keller is since 2011 the concertmaster of the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra.

Silvia Simionescu, internationally well-known violist, enjoys a diverse career that takes her all over the world as a performing musician.
Her appearances in major venues such as Paris Châtelet, Auditorium Barcelona, Wigmore Hall, KKL-Luzern, Tonhalle Zürich, Geneva Victoria Hall, Casals Hall Tokyo, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Teatro La Fenice in Venice and Concertgebouw Amsterdam, have been praised for her exceptionally passionate, intensive and intelligent musicianship.
Born in Romania, Silvia took up playing the violin at the age of six. After having completed her studies in Bucharest with Stefan Gheorghiu and Modest Iftinchi she joins the International Menuhin Music Academy in Switzerland where she studies both violin and viola under the precious guidance of legendary Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Alberto Lysy and Johannes Eskaer.
Her rencontre with Ferenc Rados, pianist and pedagogue, has deeply influenced her musical approach.
An avid and devoted chamber musician, Silvia had the great opportunity to enrich her artistic experience playing with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Joshua Bell, Carolin Widman, Ilya Gringolts, Ana Chumachenco, Alberto Lysy, Leon Fleischer, Jörg Widmann, Malin Hartelius, Bruno Giurana, David Geringas and others.
Silvia is a prizewinner of several international competitions among others: 1st Prize in the Brescia International Competition and 1st Prize as a member of the Ligeti String Trio at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition
She performed as soloist in Romania, Italy, Switzerland, Lituania, India and Japan.

Following her musical studies in Romania, the cellist Diana Ligeti entered the Paris Conservatoire post-graduate program. She soon attracted the attention of Lord Yehudi Menuhin, and attended the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad (Switzerland). Ms. Ligeti also holds a Master’s degree in Musicology from the Sorbonne Paris University.
Winner of many competitions in her native Romania, Ms. Ligeti was a finalist in the prestigious Munich Competition in 1992, and won First Grand Prize at the Douai International Cello Competition the same year. In 1996, as a member of the Ligeti String Trio, she won First Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka (Japan). Since then, Diana Ligeti has performed as a soloist and chamber musician around the world. Ms Ligeti has recorded for Arion, Léman Classics, the Japan Chamber Music Foundation, Warner, Polymnies and others. Her two most recent CD with the Ensemble “Musique Oblique” was rated with highest honors by the French press. Diana Ligeti is invited for master classes worldwide. She is a regular member of the Trio George Sand, the Calliopée Chamber Ensemble and she used to play solo cello in the new founded Open Chamber Orchestra.
In addition to her performance activities, Diana Ligeti teaches side reading for strings at the Conservatoire National Superior de Musique in Paris and cello at the Fontainebleau Schools for Music and Fine Arts and at the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional.
She plays a modern cello made by David Ayache (Montpellier, 2001) and bows by Pierre Grunberger, (Paris, 2010) and Emmanuel Begin (Montreal 2017).
Since March 2018, Diana Ligeti is the artistic director of the Fontainebleau festival, she is the second woman to hold the title after the long tenure of the famous Nadia Boulanger.
